PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party (ANP) has condemned the kidnapping of its Balochistan chapter Information Secretary Asad Khan Achakzai.
The ANP President Asfandyar Wali Khan in a statement on Monday said that the abduction of the party official had conceived numerous questions, demanding the victim’s recovery at the earliest.
He lamented the inaction of the administration for the recovery of his party official after the passage of two days.
The ANP chief questioned that how the life of a common man was safe in Balochistan when a party official could be abducted in broad daylight.
According to the ANP chief, Achakzai was on his way from Chaman to attend a provincial council meeting when all contact with him was lost near the town of Kuchlak.
Holding the government responsible, Asfandyar said it is the responsibility of the state is to protect its citizens and called on the authorities for Achakzai’s prompt recovery.
The ANP leader Amir Haider Khan Hoti also condemned the alleged kidnapping. The senior leader said that the ‘kidnapping’ of the provincial information secretary is reprehensible and such incidents are raising questions about security in the province.
Former K-P information minister and ANP leader Mian Ifthikhar Hussain also condemned Achakzai’s alleged abduction and demanded that the government take action and recover the party functionary.
Asad Khan Achakzai is the cousin of ANP Balochistan President Asghar Khan Achakzai.
